TT organisers distribute full prize fund to sidecar competitors despite race cancellation

Riders heading to the Isle of Man TT 2026 will be pleased to hear that despite the cancellation of the Sidecar races, the full prize money allocated to the class won't go to waste. The Department for Enterprise has confirmed that more than £52,000 in prize funds will be distributed evenly among all sidecar outfits entered in this year's event.

Safety Decision Leads to Prize Fund Redistribution

Organisers made the difficult decision to pull the two sidecar races from the TT 2026 schedule in the interests of competitor and spectator safety. Each race had carried a prize pot of £26,050, which will now be shared fairly across the field. The Southern 100 road race event has also taken the same precautionary approach with its sidecar class.

What's Still on the Schedule?

While sidecar enthusiasts won't see racing action this year, the main event programme remains robust. Fans and competitors can look forward to the traditional Supersport, Sportsbike, and Senior Races, which are all confirmed to go ahead as planned.
