Disappointing news for visitors: popular beach festival postponed due to severe weather

By ManxRadio Published 31 May 2026

The much-anticipated Port Erin Beach Festival, scheduled for Sunday, 1 June 2026, has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Organisers made the difficult decision after receiving forecasts of persistent rain and challenging coastal conditions that would have impacted both visitors and traders alike.

Why the Festival Has Been Postponed

The Ronaldsway Met Office has issued warnings of wet weather for the south of the island, with rain and drizzle expected for much of the day. Visitors planning to enjoy Port Erin's beaches should also be prepared for widespread hill fog and coastal mist, which would have significantly affected the festival experience.

Organisers expressed their disappointment, stating they are 'very sad' the event won't be going ahead. However, they emphasised that the decision was made 'in the interest of traders, the team operating the event, and the public' — prioritising safety and ensuring a better experience when conditions improve.

Plan Your Visit to Port Erin

While this weekend's festival is off, Port Erin remains one of the Isle of Man's most beautiful coastal destinations. The picturesque beach village offers stunning views, excellent local amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere year-round. Check back for news on a rescheduled date, and in the meantime, consider exploring other attractions across the island or visiting Port Erin on a sunnier day.
