Weather forces cancellation of popular Port Erin TT Day celebration
Visitors and locals planning to enjoy Port Erin TT Day this weekend will need to reschedule their plans. Organisers have made the difficult decision to cancel the event scheduled for Sunday, 1 June 2026, following a weather warning from Ronaldsway Met Office.
The Isle of Man's unpredictable weather has struck again, with forecasters predicting a wet day dominated by rain and drizzle. Widespread hill fog and coastal mist are also expected, creating challenging conditions for both visitors and event staff. These conditions would have significantly impacted the visitor experience and made operating the event difficult.
While event organisers expressed their disappointment, describing themselves as "very sad" about the cancellation, they emphasised that the decision was made in the best interests of traders, the operational team, and the public. This thoughtful approach prioritises safety and ensures the event can be properly enjoyed when weather conditions improve.
If you were planning to visit Port Erin for this celebration, we recommend checking back for any rescheduled dates. In the meantime, the charming coastal village of Port Erin remains a must-visit destination with its beautiful beach, heritage railway, and excellent local amenities — rain or shine.
