Okell's, the Isle of Man's iconic brewery and pub operator, is accelerating its ambitious growth strategy with a major shake-up of its senior leadership team and a significant investment in modernising its venue portfolio. The moves signal a renewed commitment to keeping pubs at the heart of the Island's thriving hospitality sector.

New Leadership Drives Strategic Transformation

The company has strengthened its executive ranks with the appointment of several industry veterans who bring fresh expertise from leading hospitality groups across the UK. Ollie Neale continues as Managing Director, leading a newly formed team that includes Andy McCulloch (formerly of Marstons), Rohan Aldcroft (from Oakman Group and Upham Inns), and Frank Maguire (previously with Heineken and Big Penny Social).

These strategic hires reflect Okell's determination to elevate the quality of food, drink, and accommodation across its estate. Chairman Mark Crowther emphasised that the calibre of talent attracted to the Island demonstrates both the strength of the company's vision and the genuine opportunities available within the business.

Modernisation Programme Underway

The company is transitioning 22 venues to its new 'managed operator' model, with four sites already successfully converted. This transformation focuses on enhancing the customer experience and ensuring each pub meets contemporary hospitality standards while retaining the character that makes Okell's venues special to locals and visitors alike.

"This is an incredibly exciting time for Okell's," Crowther told Manx Radio. "We've developed a clear strategy and are now firmly focused on delivery. Together, this leadership team will help ensure that Okell's remains at the heart of the Island's hospitality sector for generations to come."
