The racer sustained serious spinal injuries following a sidecar crash during qualifying, prompting an outpouring of support from fans and fellow competitors across the island and beyond.
£204,000 has now been collected to support Maria's recovery and rehabilitation. The funds will go towards critical medical expenses and the cost of adapting her home to suit her needs as she begins her recovery journey. The incident also left passenger Shaun Parker with extensive injuries. A separate fundraiser has been established to support him, with the racing community standing firmly behind both athletes during this challenging time.
TT organisers announced a one-hour delay to Friday's race schedule following the incident. The Mountain Road remained closed due to the crash, though three races were still planned for the day. Visitors and residents are advised to check Bus Vannin timetables before travelling, as Friday, June 5 is a bank holiday on the island, which may affect regular services.
