Warm, dry weather forecast for TT fortnight as racing season kicks off
The Isle of Man TT fortnight is set to get underway in glorious fashion, with pre-TT racing beginning this evening (22 May) and temperatures climbing to a pleasant 20 degrees by Monday. Visitors heading to the Island for one of the world's most iconic motorcycle racing events can expect settled, dry conditions throughout practice week—though race week may bring a change in the weather.
According to meteorological officers at Ronaldsway, Isle of Man residents and visitors should enjoy ideal racing conditions over the coming days. Kirsty Wilding from the Met Office confirms that temperatures will reach 18-19 degrees over the weekend (23-24 May), with highs of 20 degrees expected on Monday (25 May)—the official start of TT fortnight.
The Mountain Course will benefit from dry and settled weather during practice sessions, though some low cloud and coastal mist may develop. These conditions are favourable for both riders getting to grips with the challenging 37.73-mile circuit and spectators planning their viewing spots around the course.
While practice week looks promising, forecasters suggest race week itself could see more unsettled conditions developing. This is typical for May on the Island, where weather can change rapidly—something both competitors and fans should keep in mind when planning their TT experience.
