If you're planning to ride the iconic Snaefell Mountain Railway to catch the action at the Isle of Man TT, you'll need to adjust your plans for today. Isle of Man Railways has apologised for disruptions affecting one of the island's most popular tourist attractions during the busy racing season.

Mountain Railway Disruptions Hit TT Week

Technical problems have forced the suspension of services on the Snaefell Mountain Railway between Laxey and the Bungalow. The railway operator expects to have services restored by midday, though travellers heading up the mountain for TT spectating should plan alternative routes in the meantime. The organisation has issued an apology for the inconvenience caused during one of the island's busiest tourism periods.

What Else Is Happening During TT Week

Beyond the railway issues, visitors and residents should be aware of several other disruptions. The Mountain Road has been closed following a crash, and additional road closures are scheduled later today for the third practice session. Race officials have also reported that a sidecar driver and passenger were treated for injuries after a crash during tonight's practice session.

For those camping in the west of the island, weather could be a factor – it's worth double-checking your tent setup today. If you're travelling or arriving on the island, allow extra time for journeys, as traffic management is in full effect, with 1,750 traffic cones deployed by the Infrastructure Department to manage the increased volume during race week.
