Quick-thinking warden saves adventurous kitten from Shaw's Brow car park

An adventurous kitten has been safely rescued after a dramatic morning in Douglas city centre, thanks to the swift action of a senior city warden and a helpful local. The young cat, now temporarily named 'Doolish', became trapped overnight in Shaw's Brow car park before embarking on an unexpected urban adventure across some of Douglas's busiest streets.

From Trapped Kitten to Safe Hands

The kitten was first spotted wedged stuck in a tunnel behind a wall and some metal bars at the car park overnight. When Senior City Warden Mandy Edwards responded to reports early Wednesday morning, the frightened cat bolted before she could approach him, setting off on a perilous journey through the city centre.

A Close Call on Douglas Streets

In a heart-stopping sequence of events, the kitten darted across Barrack Street and onto Lord Street, narrowly dodging traffic in the process. The brave feline's dash through the busy thoroughfare could have ended very differently, but fortunately his luck held out. Thanks to the combined efforts of Mandy Edwards and a quick-thinking member of the public, the kitten was finally cornered and safely caught outside Hanover House.

Now in Expert Care

'Doolish' is now being cared for by the ManxSPCA, where staff can assess his health and work to reunite him with his owner if one can be found. If you've been missing a young cat in the Douglas area, contact the ManxSPCA to inquire about the rescued kitten.
