Mannin Music responds to last-minute concerns about Peel's new beach stage venue
Excitement is building around Peel's upcoming beach stage project, but organisers are clarifying the timeline after concerns were only recently raised by local officials. Laura and David Rowles, the creative minds behind Mannin Music, say they have until 2 April to secure the necessary licenses for what could become a vibrant new entertainment venue for the town.
The husband-and-wife team behind the initiative revealed that Peel Commissioners didn't voice concerns about the proposed beach stage until Wednesday, 25 March—just days before the application deadline. Despite this late feedback, the Rowles remain optimistic, with Mrs Rowles reporting that locals have been stopping her in the street to express their encouragement for the project.
The couple has been working closely with Commissioner Katryna Baptist and Commissioner Stuart Hardingham, describing their meetings as positive and productive. Mannin Music is partnering with Peel's local authority on this trial initiative and will help organise the musical acts and entertainment programme.
The directors have also highlighted a broader concern: there's a "general feeling" in Peel that things simply don't happen in the town. The beach stage represents an opportunity to change that narrative and bring quality live music and cultural events to one of the Isle of Man's most picturesque coastal communities. For visitors and residents alike, a vibrant entertainment venue could enhance Peel's appeal as a must-visit destination.
With the application deadline fast approaching on 2 April, all eyes are on whether Mannin Music will secure the approvals needed to move forward with this exciting project.
