Late-night dining could be coming to Castletown's historic Malew Street
Castletown could soon be welcoming a new late-night dining destination. A planning application has been submitted to transform the former Victoria Grill on Malew Street into an Indian restaurant with extended opening hours, potentially staying open until midnight each evening.
Applicant Kevin Graham from Onchan is seeking permission to operate the restaurant from 9pm until midnight daily. In his planning application, Graham has cited similar food outlets in the area that have already been granted comparable late-night licenses, strengthening the case for approval.
If approved, the new Indian restaurant would add to Castletown's dining scene and offer visitors and locals a convenient late-night option on the charming medieval town's main street. The extended hours would make it an attractive stop for tourists exploring the Island's cultural attractions, including Castletown Castle and the town's picturesque waterfront.
The application is currently under planning consideration, and locals should watch for further updates as the Isle of Man planning authority reviews the proposal.
