Peel Beach set to host new summer events stage as commissioners push ahead with £26,000 project
Peel is preparing to welcome a brand new events stage on its picturesque beach, promising to transform the town into a vibrant summer entertainment destination. Peel Commissioners are progressing plans for a £26,000 beach stage that will debut this summer, subject to securing grant funding from the Department for Enterprise's Domestic Event Fund. The stage represents an exciting opportunity to boost tourism and breathe new life into the beloved coastal town.
The beach stage project includes the stage itself plus all necessary associated infrastructure. Commissioner Sharon Lambert confirmed that to keep costs manageable, no seating will be installed around the stage area, and no sponsorships have been pursued. Local business Mannin Music will take charge of the booking system and curating performances, while handling all necessary licenses for the venue.
If funding is confirmed, the stage is expected to launch in June—strategically timed just before the TT races—and will continue operating through July. This positions Peel perfectly to capture visitors heading to the island for the famous motorcycle event and beyond. Local schools, youth clubs, and community groups have already been approached about using the stage, ensuring diverse programming throughout the trial period.
The commissioners hope this new attraction will encourage visitor numbers and spark broader economic development across Peel. The stage could establish the town as a premier entertainment hub, complementing its existing appeal as a scenic coastal destination.
