By ManxRadio Published 25 May 2026

If you're planning to visit the Isle of Man during TT Festival 2026, it's time to mark your calendars and plan your route around the Douglas Promenade. The beloved seafront will undergo a series of closures to make way for the exciting TT funfair attraction, so here's everything you need to know to make the most of your visit.

What's Happening on the Promenade?

Starting today, 25 May 2026, work begins to transform part of the Douglas Promenade into a vibrant fairground experience. The walkway section between Granville Street and the War Memorial will be restricted to allow crews to set up the TT funfair and install necessary safety fencing.

Closure Schedule for Visitors

  • 25–28 May: Complete closure to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians (12pm to 11am Thursday)
  • 28 May–7 June: Open to pedestrians only, 11am–11pm daily (funfair operating hours)
  • Overnight closures: 11pm–11am throughout the funfair period
  • 8–10 June: Full closure again for dismantling (11am Monday to 5pm Wednesday)

Plan Your Visit Around the Festivities

While the promenade setup means some temporary restrictions, the TT funfair promises to be a highlight of the festival season. Visitors are encouraged to arrive during the pedestrian-only hours (11am–11pm) to enjoy the attractions safely and experience the full carnival atmosphere that makes TT Festival so special.
