A spectacular tall ship from Poland is calling at Douglas Harbour this weekend, offering visitors a rare chance to explore a working maritime training vessel. The Dar Mlodziezy — a stunning ocean-going ship used to train sea cadets from around the world — will be open to the public for guided tours across Saturday and Sunday.
The Dar Mlodziezy is owned by Gdynia Maritime University in Poland and is one of the largest tall ships still in active service. Stretching over 100 metres in length, this impressive vessel regularly hosts up to 130 sea cadets on training voyages, teaching them traditional sailing skills and maritime seamanship.
