Manx Care pursues temporary dental facility at Ramsey hospital
Ramsey Cottage Hospital could soon be home to a temporary mobile dental clinic, as Manx Care seeks planning permission to improve dental services across the Island. The healthcare provider has submitted an application to install a mobile building on the hospital site, marking an important step in expanding accessible healthcare facilities for residents in the north.
The proposed temporary structure would be positioned in the car park near the Cumberland Road entrance, providing a dedicated space for dental treatments. According to Manx Care's planning application, the mobile building is expected to remain on-site for approximately 18 months, allowing sufficient time to assess its effectiveness and plan for permanent solutions.
Manx Care has indicated that preparatory groundwork will be necessary to create a safe, level surface for the mobile unit. This infrastructure investment demonstrates the organisation's commitment to bringing essential dental services closer to communities outside Douglas, reducing travel times for patients seeking routine and emergency dental care.
For visitors and residents alike, improved dental facilities across different areas of the Isle of Man enhance the overall quality of healthcare available. Should the planning application be approved, the mobile clinic would represent a significant boost to healthcare provision in Ramsey and the surrounding northern parishes.
