Essential TT Course repairs scheduled ahead of this year's iconic races
Mark your calendars! A key section of the famous Isle of Man TT Course will be closed for essential maintenance from Monday, 20 April onwards. If you're planning to visit or travel across the island during this time, here's what you need to know about the temporary disruptions.
The Lezayre Road between Ginger Hall and Glen Auldyn on the approach to Ramsey will shut from 9.30am on Monday 20 April until no later than 3.30pm on Friday 24 April. The closure will be in place 24 hours a day throughout this period to allow workers to safely complete critical repairs straddling the road's centre line.
The Department of Infrastructure is undertaking comprehensive work to ensure the TT Course is in perfect condition for this year's races. Planned works include:
Visitors and residents should expect traffic diversions throughout the closure period. All traffic, including buses, will be redirected along St Jude's Road, Jurby Road, and Bowring Road. If you're travelling to or from Ramsey during these dates, allow extra time for your journey and use the designated alternative routes.
These preparations are all part of ensuring the Isle of Man's most famous motorsport event runs smoothly. The TT remains one of the world's most thrilling motorcycle races, and course maintenance is vital for both competitor safety and spectator experience.
