Nearly 38,000 fans travelled with Steam Packet for the world-famous TT races
The Steam Packet Company transported nearly 38,000 passengers to the Isle of Man during this year's TT races, reinforcing the ferry operator's vital role in welcoming global motorsport enthusiasts to the Island for the world-renowned event.
According to the company's latest figures, 37,941 passengers arrived via Steam Packet services during the TT festival. While this represents a slight decrease of around 1,600 passengers compared to 2025, it still underscores the massive logistics challenge of moving tens of thousands of fans across the Irish Sea in just two weeks.
Brian Thomson, Managing Director of Steam Packet, expressed pride in the company's contribution to the TT's success. "We're proud of the role we play in helping the TT run smoothly each year," he said, highlighting how the ferry service is integral to the Island's most famous sporting calendar.
To handle the surge in TT traffic, Steam Packet deployed multiple vessels across its key routes. The Manxman and Manannan operated passenger services from Heysham, Liverpool, Dublin, and Larne, while the Ben my Chree managed freight operations from Heysham. This coordinated approach ensures fans and their motorcycles, support vehicles, and equipment arrive safely on the Island.
For visitors planning to attend future TT races, these figures demonstrate the importance of booking ferry tickets in advance. Steam Packet remains the primary gateway for international TT fans, making early reservations essential during peak race weeks.
