A heartwarming annual walk raises vital funds and celebrates the island's Down's Syndrome community
Every year, hundreds of islanders lace up their walking boots for a special cause. Teddy's Trundle, an annual awareness walk celebrating those living with Down's Syndrome on the Isle of Man, has now raised an impressive £27,000 — and this Saturday marks its fifth year running.
The event sees participants undertake a 21km walk from Peel to Douglas, a scenic route that showcases some of the island's finest coastal and countryside landscapes. Whether you're a keen walker or simply looking to support a worthy cause while enjoying beautiful Isle of Man scenery, Teddy's Trundle welcomes all abilities and fitness levels.
Teddy's Trundle was founded by Charli and Oli Dimelow, whose four-year-old son Teddy was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome at just 8 weeks old. What began as a personal mission to raise awareness has blossomed into something truly wonderful — a community event that brings islanders together and celebrates the achievements of local residents with Down's Syndrome.
This year's walk kicks off at 9:15am on Saturday, 21 March 2026 at the kipper factory in Peel. Whether you're joining the walkers or supporting from the sidelines, you can donate to this inspiring cause online. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore the island while making a real difference to your community.
