Beloved charity walk hits £30,000 milestone in support of Down's Syndrome awareness
A heartwarming annual tradition on the Isle of Man has reached a significant milestone. Teddy's Trundle, the popular charity walk that combines fresh air, community spirit, and fundraising, has now surpassed £30,000 in total donations since its launch.
The fifth edition of Teddy's Trundle took place over the weekend, drawing more than 70 walkers who tackled the scenic 21km route from Peel to Douglas. The event was created by Charli and Oli Dimelow, who wanted to transform public perceptions of Down's Syndrome after their own experiences when their son Teddy was born.
Rather than dwelling on challenges, the couple channelled their energy into creating something positive and inclusive—a walk that welcomes everyone and celebrates the strength of their community. What started as a personal mission has blossomed into one of the island's most beloved annual charitable events.
This year's event has already raised £3,600, which will be divided between two important organisations: Positive About Down Syndrome (PADS) and Down Syndrome Isle of Man. These funds will help provide vital support and resources for families across the island.
Whether you're a keen walker, a supporter of local causes, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend time outdoors with the community, Teddy's Trundle exemplifies the best of Isle of Man spirit. Mark your calendar for next year's event and be part of something truly special.
