Weather forces three-hour delay to Saturday racing schedule at the Isle of Man TT
Overnight rain has forced TT race organisers to delay Saturday's planned racing by three hours, with both the Sportbike Race 2 and the Senior TT now rescheduled to accommodate drying conditions on the famous Mountain Road course.
The Mountain Road is now due to close at 12pm on Saturday, 6 June, with all other roads around the course following suit at 1pm. This adjustment gives race officials and course marshals the time needed to ensure the notoriously challenging circuit is safe for competitors and spectators alike. A further update is expected at noon.
The schedule changes come after a red flag incident halted Friday evening's Senior TT after just two laps. The rider involved was reported as conscious and talking, with race officials confirming the competitor's wellbeing. The Senior TT will now be rescheduled to Sunday, allowing additional time for track assessment and preparation.
Despite the delays, fans can still look forward to enjoying the traditional spectacle of TT racing this evening, with views over Douglas Bay expected to be particularly special. Keep an eye on official TT communications for any further updates, and remember that closed roads must be respected — police reported several arrests throughout Friday for those attempting to access restricted areas.
