Three riders in stable condition following Friday incidents during TT 2026 races
The Isle of Man TT 2026 got off to a challenging start on Friday when three riders were involved in separate incidents across different races. The good news for fans and the racing community is that all three competitors are now reported as conscious, stable, and talking, with medical teams continuing to provide treatment for their injuries.
Erno Kostamo came off his bike at the 11th Milestone during the Senior Race on the second lap. After initial trackside treatment, he was transported to Noble's Hospital and then transferred to Aintree Hospital for further specialist care. He is being treated for leg and hip injuries but remains in good spirits and conscious throughout his recovery.
Jamie Cringle had an incident at Union Mills during Supersport TT Race 2. He was also transferred from Noble's Hospital to Aintree Hospital, where he continues to receive treatment for leg, chest, and back injuries. Like Kostamo, Cringle is conscious, stable, and communicating well with medical staff.
Michael Evans came off at Braddan Oak during Sportbike TT Race 1 and was assessed at Noble's Hospital. His condition is reported as the least serious of the three, with no major injuries noted, though he continues to receive treatment as a precaution.
The Isle of Man TT organisers have expressed their best wishes to all three riders and their families, friends, and teams. Special praise has been given to the Marshals, medical teams, and emergency services for their swift and professional response to the incidents. Their expertise and quick action demonstrated the high safety standards maintained throughout the world-famous racing event.
