Rough seas force Steam Packet to cancel overnight Manxman crossings
Travellers planning to cross between the Isle of Man and Lancashire are being urged to check the latest updates, as significant weather disruption has forced the cancellation of key ferry sailings this week.
The Steam Packet Company has cancelled two overnight Manxman crossings on Tuesday, 24 March. The 7:15pm sailing from Douglas to Heysham and the return trip at 1:45am will not operate due to adverse sea conditions.
Two further sailings scheduled for Wednesday, 25 March are also at risk. The 8:00am Douglas to Heysham crossing and the 1:45pm return sailing may be affected, though a final decision will be made by 6:00am Wednesday morning. Passengers are advised to stay tuned to Steam Packet updates for confirmation.
If you're planning a trip to or from the Island during unsettled weather, it's worth monitoring conditions closely and building extra time into your journey. The Steam Packet Company provides regular updates on its website and social media channels, so check before you travel to avoid disruption to your plans.
