UltraMann: A 50-Mile Challenge Through Manx Heritage

The inaugural UltraMann challenge kicked off at 7am this morning, putting runners through their paces on a demanding 50-mile course. The route starts on the Heritage Trail between Union Mills and Glen Lough campsite, taking participants on a journey through some of the island's most scenic and historic terrain before finishing at North Quay in Douglas.

This inaugural event marks an exciting addition to the Isle of Man's endurance racing calendar, offering both locals and visiting athletes the chance to test their limits across diverse Manx landscapes.

Race The Sun: A 90-Mile Relay Against the Clock

If 50 miles sounds tough, the 2026 edition of Race The Sun takes endurance to another level. Teams of up to 10 competitors are navigating a gruelling 90-mile relay across the iconic Raad ny Foillan coastal path. The twist? They must complete the entire route between sunrise at 4:47am and sunset at 9:55pm—giving them just over 17 hours to conquer the island's stunning coastline.

Like UltraMann, Race The Sun also concludes at North Quay in Douglas, which will be closed to vehicles for the day to accommodate the finish line activities.
