Popular bar launches summer café and asks islanders to return borrowed cups
As Foraging Vintners prepares to welcome visitors to its new summer café, the south Island business is launching an appeal to islanders with a heartfelt request: please return the cups you borrowed over winter. With The Cosy Nook set to open in Port Erin on Wednesday, April 1st, the bar is counting down to the busy season — but it's missing thousands of the 5,000 cups it ordered last summer.
MaryBeth Coll from Foraging Vintners has taken to LinkedIn to appeal for the cups' safe return, offering an incentive that benefits the community. For every cup returned, the business will donate 10p to charity, turning what could have been an inconvenience into an opportunity to give back. The bar is thanking everyone who participated in the "Winter Storage Scheme" and is encouraging islanders to check their homes for any cups they may have taken.
If you've got cups stashed away from winter gatherings, now's the perfect time to return them. Head down to Port Erin as The Cosy Nook opens for the season, reunite your borrowed drinkware, and know you're supporting a good cause. It's a win-win for one of the Island's most popular hospitality spots as it gears up for a busy summer of visitors and locals alike.
