Irish Sea weather could impact tonight's Steam Packet sailings to and from Heysham
Travellers planning to cross the Irish Sea tonight should be prepared for potential disruption, as the Steam Packet Company has warned that two sailings of the Manxman could be at risk due to incoming bad weather.
The ferry operator has flagged concerns over the 7.45pm Douglas to Heysham crossing and the 2.15am return sailing, both scheduled for Wednesday, 1 July 2026. Strong winds and rough seas are forecast to affect the Irish Sea later this evening, creating challenging conditions for the crossing.
If you're travelling to or from the Isle of Man this evening, we recommend staying in contact with Steam Packet for the latest information on whether services will proceed as scheduled. The company will make its final determination closer to departure time, giving passengers as much notice as possible of any changes.
