Weather didn't stop hundreds of fell runners from conquering the island's toughest challenge

Despite challenging weather conditions, the Manx Mountain Marathon and Half Manx Mountain Marathon saw close to 300 competitors — including many visiting runners from off-Island — take on the Isle of Man's demanding fell running challenge. Organisers made smart safety decisions to keep participants protected while maintaining the spirit of this prestigious event in the Callin Wild Manx Fell League.

Marathon Champions Crowned

Thomas Felton-Smith claimed victory in the full marathon, crossing the finish line in an impressive 4 hours 58 minutes and 9 seconds. The women's title went to Katia Tastagh, who completed the gruelling course in 6 hours 39 minutes and 8 seconds.

In the half marathon, Harry Kneen took first place overall with a winning time of 1 hour 54 minutes and 38 seconds, also securing the fastest under-23 finish. Nikki Arthur dominated the women's half marathon, finishing in 2 hours 8 minutes and 47 seconds.

Smart Route Changes Keep Runners Safe

Organisers made a crucial last-minute decision to alter the route due to forecast strong winds affecting exposed coastal sections between Fleshwick and Bradda. Runners were safely diverted inland along the Ernie Broadbent Walk before rejoining the original course near the finish, ensuring a challenging but secure experience for all participants.

The decision highlighted the organisers' commitment to safety while preserving the authentic Manx mountain experience that makes these events so popular with fell runners across the UK and beyond.
